Overview
The Western Redbud is a small, multi-trunked tree that fits perfectly in residential gardens. In early spring, it explodes with vibrant magenta flowers before the leaves even appear, signaling the end of winter in the foothills.
Native peoples have long managed Redbuds through coppicing to produce straight shoots for basketry. It creates a beautiful contrast when planted alongside the silver-grey foliage of Gray Pine or Olive.
